April 16-27, 2014
New York, USA

The Tribeca Film Festival was founded to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking centre and to contribute to the long-term recovery of lower Manhattan. The festival’s line-up includes a variety of independent films including documentaries, narrative features and shorts, as well as family-friendly films.

The festival also features panel discussions with personalities in the entertainment world and a music lounge to showcase artistes.

One of the more distinctive components of the festival is its Artists Awards programme, where emerging and renowned artistes celebrate filmmakers by providing original works of art that are given to the filmmakers’ competition winners.

The 2014 festival comprises films from 32 countries and includes 55 world premieres. 102 directors will present their films – 22 of them women – with 37 of these filmmakers making their feature directorial debuts.
